How many of you, to open a blog, you have ever wondered what could be the best platform of the web?
Well, I thought I'd compile a short list of platforms that I tried.
A little example to be made: depending on what your purpose and your idea of \u200b\u200ba blog, a platform could be better for you than another, but let's see what are the characteristics of the major sites make available their free web space:
Altervista (from wikipedia): Forums is a web Italian. This is a pure blogging platform, which unlike other competitors shows no significant openings to the respective network. Blogger lets you post, in addition to text, pictures and video; This makes it ideal for the beginner webmaster. It also allows you to more places at once allowing an author to create real newspapers online.
My opinion: for those who, on completion of the Windows Live Spaces this year wants to open a blog elsewhere. Customizing graphics are very intuitive and very close to that of Microsoft's blogging platform.
Splinder (from wikipedia): This is a blog platform developed in the Italian language since 2001 by the company Tipic Inc, since 2006 part of Dada Group.
Splinder blog now has more than 470,000 open and about 745,000 subscribers, although it must take into account the fact that many blogs are abandoned for a long time and many users are duplicates. [...]

Wordpress (from wikipedia): is a blog hosting service run by Automattic which is based on multi-user version of WordPress software. The service allows the creation of one or more blogs for free, and offers some additional services for a fee. For every Registered Wordpress.com blog provides a third level of the address type nomescelto.wordpress.com.
My opinion: simple and intuitive to manage. If your goal is to customize graphics (free), I advise you to avoid opening a blog on this space.
